Mitchell had stood down from the role after last season, before a change of heart.
After a shift in employment, Mitchell now has more time to commit to the role.
The Waratahs premiership winning coach is looking to improve on what the club achieved last year.
“Circumstances have changed and I think it will be good to build on last year,” Mitchell said.
“I think we did things differently to previous years so to build on that and go a bit better would be a good thing.”
Ag College scrapped into the finals last season before being bundled out by Tumut in the first week.
This time around Mitchell has loftier goals.
“There is no lack of talent, and I think the competition know that, but it is just a matter of getting some consistency and training and working hard,” he said.
“We will be better this year than last year.”
Ag College are expected to have a similar team to last season, with former captain Thomas Macleay the biggest departure.
Captain Cam Duffy was thrilled to have Mitchell back on board.
“I think it will be great for the club with two years with the same patterns, same structures and same guidance,” Duffy said.
With Mitchell back in there will only be three new coaching appointments this season with changes coming from Wagga City, Waratahs and Griffith.
