The man wrestled with the police following a foot chase on Monday morning.
One of the officers was struck in the face and sustained damage to his teeth, while the other had a dislocated finger and a torn ligament in his knee.
Acting Inspector Nigel Turney praised the officers for how they handled the situation.
“It’s unfortunate that it’s a contact sport that we play, and at times officers are going to be injured,” Acting Inspector Turney said.
“They’re holding up pretty well at the moment – they’re two very good officers, and they’re two strong officers.”
The man was charged with two counts of actual bodily harm, resisting police, and for an incident in December relating to a stolen vehicle.
He was due to face court in Wagga on Tuesday afternoon.
