After winning his heat from gate six, the Cessnock pacer will again start from the outside of the front row in the $40,000 final on Friday night.

Showing blistering early speed to lead his rivals in his heat, the early obstacle proved easy to overcome in his race track debut.

Reinsman Peter Hedges is not too disappointed with drawing the wide alley once again.

“In all honestly he is probably better off out there as he is out of trouble,” Hedges said.

“That is one good thing as there is nothing worse than if you drew in amongst them and something puts a step in sideways and can knock you out of the race.

“He has good gate speed so he will have a bit of track to work with.”

A graduate of the Ready To Run Sales at Menangle, trainer Stacie Elliott targeted the Leeton feature.

She has been happy with his work since his debut win.

“She said his work has probably improved if anything from the heat which is really good,” Hedges said.

The second of the heat winners, Stephen Maguire’s Major Roll has drawn barrier five.

The other of the best performers from the heats, John Kefford’s Heart Of Cooper will start from the inside of the second row in seven.

Hedges rates them as his main dangers.

David Druitt’s Lenas Art, who broke shortly after the start, has come up with barrier one.
