The NSW Rural Fire Service issued the ban for Cootamundra, Boorowa, Gundagai, Harden, Tumbarumba, Tumut and Young after hot temperatures and high winds were predicted.
No fires may be lit and open flames are not permitted during this time.
Gas and electric barbecues can be used, providing the right safety measures are taken.
