Turvey Park firefighters were called to Baylis Street just after 2pm on Sunday after security guards alerted them to what appeared to be smoke coming from the inside of Suncorp Bank.

However, upon gaining access to the building, the firefighters discovered the smoke was actually just a build up of condensation coming from an overworked air-conditioning unit.
The crew ventilated the building, did some atmospheric monitoring, and isolated the air-conditioning unit before vacating the area at about 3pm.
Sunday brought with it another onslaught of smoking hot weather and a top of 42 degrees for Wagga, which triggered a “very high” fire danger rating for the Eastern Riverina.
However, Turvey Park Fire and Rescue crews enjoyed a largely successful day, reporting no other emergency call outs.
