It was Sydney Thunder who cemented top spot on the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) ladder with a 37-run win over Adelaide Strikers.
Organisers were thrilled with the turn out, given the hot conditions. The temperature hit 42 degrees but that did not stop Wagga from getting behind the event.
Patrons bought tents, umbrellas, shade shelters and chairs to help the comfort levels.
The Thunder’s 4-148 was too much for the Strikers to chase, as they were dismissed for 111 in the 20th over.
The WBBL action continues on Sunday at Robertson Oval with the second match of the double header between the two teams.
Entry is free.
