The Thunder announced the signing of the English international on Wednesday.
Wilson is an international replacement player for Harmanpreet Kaur, who has been selected in the Indian national team for the upcoming tour of South Africa.
Wilson, 26, won the Women’s World Cup with England last year and has been playing for Wellington in the New Zealand domestic competition during the English off-season.
“It will be a great opportunity to develop my game amongst some of the best players in the world and meet some new people,” Wilson told the Thunder website.
“I have been playing my Cricket for Wellington in NZ this off season so it was quite tough having to say goodbye a bit early but everyone has been very supportive and they have promised to be watching all the games.
“I’m excited to be part of a new team with people I don’t know and coaches I haven’t worked with before. It’s a great opportunity to learn lots and meet a few new faces.
“Green is my favourite colour too so that’s exciting.”
Wilson has played 10 T20 Internationals, 17 ODIs and featured in the historic day-night Ashes Test at North Sydney Oval last November.
