The Byron Bay-based duo, Patty Preece and Melania Jack, are music technology educators and performers.
They will be both performing and offering an electronic music workshop later in Wagga this month.
The three-hour workshop has been designed for people who are interested in getting into the music industry as an electronic musician/producer, or for musicians who want to add more to their music and live performance.
It will be held at the Museum of the Riverina’s Civic Centre location on Thursday, January 25, from 10am.
The pair will perform on the same day – from 7.30pm – at Splash Laundrette, 68 Berry Street, Wagga.
The free show is described as a live electronic music performance art piece, which explores the topics of domestic labour, technology and the history of women in electronic music.
Specially adapted irons and ironing boards are used to create sounds for the show.
Microphones attached to the washing machines and dryers are also used to capture the sounds of laundrette and add them to the performance.
Bookings for the workshop and for the performance can be made at www.eventbrite.com.au
