Cork & Fork’s founder, Tim McMullen, said they are thrilled to be bringing home grown food, wine, and entertainment to next year’s World Championship Gumi Race.
“We're excited to support Gumi and to be part of a great event and also help out with the fundraising effort the Apex club are doing,” Mr McMullen said.
Mr McMullen said the idea for the collaboration came about when Gumi’s organisers, the South Wagga Apex Club, started looking for ways to expand the iconic event beyond the race itself.
“The Apex club wanted to grow the event and see some new opportunities for people visiting town for the race to hang out a bit longer and enjoy the beach area instead of just doing the race and moving on,” he said.
“It's a great event that's been going for many years and it's great for the city – so to keep people hanging around the beach area afterwards made a lot of sense to me.”
The 2018 World Championship Gumi Race is set to take place on Sunday, February 18.
