Breust and fellow Riverina product Isaac Smith were two of five Hawthorn players awarded life membership at the club’s annual general meeting last week.
The Temora footballer received life membership after reaching 150 club games for the Hawks earlier this year.
Breust has nothing but thanks for the club who has given him so much.
“Obviously a huge honour to receive life membership. Especially at a club that gave me the opportunity to play AFL footy,” Breust said.
“And to receive it alongside four other players that I hold in high regard was special as well.
“I can’t thank the club enough and all the coaches I’ve had along the way for the work they’ve put into me. Also a huge thanks to the players for the pretty memorable journey we have been on so far.”
Breust saved his biggest thanks for parents Allan and Denise, siblings Mark and Rebecca, and partner Anthea.
“Lastly thanks to my parents and family and partner for everything they have done for me. Especially the long hours spent driving around the Riverina when I was younger and also since I’ve been at Hawthorn.”
