The 28-year-old was arrested in Campbelltown on Saturday by detectives from the robbery and serious crimes unit and charged with nine offences, including an armed robbery at the Caltex Service Station on the corner of Docker and Edward streets on November 7.

According to police, an attack on a lone 19-year-old female service station attendant was caught on CCTV where she ran for her life after a man, armed with a machete, dived across the counter and chased her to a customer’s car. The woman sought refuge just after 10.45pm.

The man then allegedly stole a green Mazda stolen, before that car was used to try and ram police officers at a house in Callaghan Street, Ashmont.

Police issued a public appeal for the whereabouts of the man due to concerns for public safety.

“Police will allege that this is a dangerous criminal who’s been committing very serious offences,” Wagga Inspector Peter McLay said.

The man is due to appear in Nowra Local Court on Tuesday
