With all ages and backgrounds, there was no shortage of fun or conversation as residents gathered to share their stories at the multicultural festival party.
Multicultural Council board chair Ray Goodlass said it was an important event to bring the community together.
“It’s a special year end celebration and everyone is just so relaxed and happy to be here,” he said.
For five hours more than 150 people headed to the gardens to celebrate as one.
“It brings everyone together and makes them feel welcome,” he said.
“We host gatherings throughout the year but this one is very special for people to talk and mingle.”
Mr Goodlass said everyone had a different way of celebrating Christmas and the New Year but the event simply brought everyone together.
“Everyone is here because it’s not religiously specific it’s just a tremendous feel good event,” he said.
