Operation Safe Arrival began at 12:01am on Friday 15 December 2017 and will run until 11:59pm on Monday 1 January 2018.
Officers conducted more than 260 RBTs and RDTs around Wagga this morning with one infringement notice issued.
Inspector Adrian Telfer was pleased to report an incident-free night on Friday but said officers would remain vigilant in the holiday season.
“We had a really good night on Friday but we’ll be out and about for Operation Safe Arrival,” he said.
“Police will be in force conducting roadside testing into the new year.”
As of Wednesday, 367 people have lost their lives on NSW roads in 2017, passing the tally this time last year.
There were 29 fatalities during December 2016 in NSW, one more fatality (4 per cent) than December 2015 and the highest December total since 2011 (with 40 fatalities).
