They were able to meet the nation’s best cricketers during a week with Cricket Australia which included the Second Ashes Test.
The twins attend Sacred Heart Catholic School and have to complete work experience for Year 10.
It started with train trip to Melbourne on November 27 before they spent that Tuesday working with the game development squad and then working with the Big Bash League on Wednesday.
"On Thursday we flew over to Adelaide and on Friday, we worked with the hospitality team, setting up for the second Ashes Test," Mitchell said.
"Saturday was our last day, and we hung out with the broadcast team and were allowed onto the pitch to see the players warming up, the coin toss and then we were allowed to watch a couple of hours cricket.
“We also got to meet sports commentator and former player Adam Gilchrist and some of the present players. It was an amazing experience.
"I think I would like to work in media in the future - we got to experience so many different aspects of Cricket Australia and I enjoyed all of it,” Mitchell said.
“I would like to play cricket for Australia one day, that’s the dream anyway.”
Lachie also enjoyed the experience of working in the sport arena, although his interests lean more toward golf.
"I am aiming to have a career in golf, but will look into media as a backup career," Lachie said.
"We have now finished at Sacred Heart and will move over to Hennessy Catholic College for year 11 and 12.
“This week of work experience was something I will never forget, I didn't want to come home."
When they learned they were working with Cricket Australia, it was hard to contain their excitement.
“The boys were beside themselves when they found out where they were going for their work experience!” their mum Emma Deep said.
“We cannot thank Cricket Australia enough for allowing them to have this fantastic experience, it is something they will remember for the rest of their lives.”
