More than 500 people packed out Forum 6 Cinema on Thursday morning for the midnight premiere and cinema manager Craig Lucas says the seats keep on filling.
“I’d be surprised if we don’t end up with 1500 people through on Thursday,” he said.
“We’re heading into Boxing Day territory here.”
It’s not just saber-wielding fanatics in the picture with school groups and bedraggled teachers packing out theatres during the day.
“We had a 400-strong school group here and we’ve got another 250 coming on Friday,” Mr Lucas said.
It is estimated more than $15000 changed hands over the opening 24 hours.
