Dance teacher Yvonne O’Connor is commemorating 50 years of teaching the city’s youth and adults to dance and she’s inviting past and present students to help her celebrate.

She has been operating Yvonne O’Connor School of Dancing for the past 50 years.
The studio teaches an average of 130 students each year, which is about 6000 students in total.
The end-of-year concert, which will feature a performance by Isabella Klemke, will be held on Saturday, December 16 at the Civic Theatre at 2pm and 7.15pm.
Proceeds from the final concert have been donated to the Cerebral Palsy Alliance since 1968.
It was a decision Ms O’Connor made after her friend’s daughter was diagnosed.
A celebration will be held on the deck at the Commercial Club with past and present students on December 17 from 6.30pm
