After more than 40 years in the locksmithing industry the Measday has sold their beloved business, Riverina Safes and Locks.
After growing up working in the family business Brian Measday is ready for retirement.
Brian’s father, Ian, started Riverina Safes and Locks in 1985 after starting work as a key cutter in 1965.
Before cutting keys Ian worked with his father (Brian’s grandfather), Eric, at Godwins Hardware. Which was also a family owned and operated business.
Riverina Safes and Locks grew from a one-man operation cutting keys on Peter Street to the five-person team working from the large premises on Berry Street.
Brian Measday owned and managed the business with his wife, Julie, and son, Brett.
“It’s been in our family since 1985,” he said.
The business changed hands in December 2017 with new owners taking over and local Robert Hamilton the new manager at the store.

ustomers can expect to deal with the same capable and skilled team of security consultants, locksmiths and administration staff with the team remaining unchanged.
“I wish the new owners and management all the best and the same success we had,” Mr Measday said.
Riverina Safes and Locks sells, installs and services “anything and everything” to do with locks – both electronic and traditional.
As digitalised locks become more common locksmiths are more technically skilled rather than purely mechanical as they were with traditional locks.
Over the years the Measday family has built up a strong and loyal client base of residential and commercial customers.
Their client base isn’t limited to Wagga with customers across the Riverina and beyond including Albury and Yass.
The team service clients anywhere within a four-hour radius of Wagga.
“We offer all security products for your home or business,” Riverina Safes and Locks manager Robert Hamilton said. The team have a reputation for offering quality security products and Mr Hamilton plans to keep that reputation strong.
"We plan to continue to deliver and improve the service we provide to the Riverina region,” he said.
