Tolland Cycling Club’s Myles Stewart will be looking to take out the Wagga Madison’s A-grade event for the third consecutive year with his third different teammate, having teamed up with Brodie Pearse.
But they’ll be challenged by an incredibly tough field which features young Tolland talent Jake Brooker and Albury ace Steve Kilpatrick, the latter taking out last year’s event with Stewart.
Meanwhile, Tolland stalwart Peter Treloar - who has previously raced with Brooker - has paired with elite Victorian veteran Todd Wilksch to create a potent duo which is also expected to provide some stiff competition.
Treloar said it promised to be a wildly exciting night.
“It's such a spectacle, it’s just great stuff to watch for spectators,” he said.
“It always gets a great crowd and people are usually quite amazed by what they see.”
Treloar said adding extra intrigue to the event would be a handful of Tolland competitors, including Will Silver and Luke Riley, opting against revealing their teammates until the night of the race.
“I think that’s a bit of mind games all for a bit of fun,” Treloar said.
“That’s just guys being a bit sneaky with their mates.”
