According to president Dan McGreal, the club has an optimistic feeling around it following a club meeting held recently.
“The club is looking really good at this stage,” he said.
“There has been heaps of talk of players returning who didn’t play last season which is great.
“Things are looking good for our first training run of the season.”
For McGreal, the most important factor is keeping the interest the junior Blacks who have reached top age and are looking for the next step, and with that in mind, the club is trying to get the third grade off the ground again after they didn’t feature in the competition last season.
“At this stage, we have appointed a coach and are pretty confident it will get off the ground,” he said.
“We have a few coming through juniors who will be able to take the step into thirds as well as a few senior guys who are looking to take the step back from firsts and seconds.”
Not only will under 16s players be looking to take the step up the coach will be following his senior players with McGreal announcing Justin James would be taking on the role for this season.
