A Christmas party for children in need brought delights of the festive season to Wagga residents across the weekend.
There were none more merry than the small group of young Filipino and Chilean girls, who performed to a small crowd at the Holy Trinity School Hall on Saturday, December 2.
The charity event – anonymously hosted – provided struggling families with a celebration of music, games, gifts and fun.
Aged between 3 and 14-years old, the Wagga Filipino Cultural Dance Troupe girls combined singing and Philippines traditional dancing in their colourful performance.
Group coordinator Bebina Curtis said the 12 young stars had become close and were excited for the challenge, after spending just two months practicing.
Despite the “horrible weather”, Ms Curtis said it was a great day. She said the girls understood the Children’s Christmas Party was about helping others.
“We have to give our time and effort for nothing to make them happy,” she said.
“I’d say there were more than 100 people who came.”
