The start of the two-day competition has seen three draws after conditions for play on Saturday and Sunday forced the cancellation.
Originally the round was moved forward to avoid a clash with the Wagga Sloggers trip to the Sydney Cricket Ground for the Regional Bash finals next week.
Wagga cricket president Eric Koetz doesn’t expect another change.
“We still have the Sloggers going away next weekend at that takes quite a few guys out of a couple of sides,” Koetz said.
“It disadvantages those teams too much and that was why the round was changed originally.”
There is still an open weekend on December 16 and 17 but clubs had voted against playing the full two-day round then.
“It was an option put up earlier but the clubs voted that down as there was too many guys with commitments close to Christmas to play on the Sunday and Saturday,” Koetz said.
Koetz said he expected it would be something discussed at the club delegates meeting on Monday night, but doesn’t believe the decision will change.
As it stands, the competition will now not resume until after the Christmas break.
Kooringal Colts and South Wagga will clash in the one-day final under lights at Robertson Oval on Friday and then the next round is on January 13.
There was hope that the clash between South Wagga and Wagga City at Robertson Oval could have reverted to a one-day match on Sunday.
However a further inspection of the pitch found too much damage.
It is also the second time in three weeks the Wagga softball competition has been abandoned due to the weather.
Instead both games will be credited at 0-all draws.
It will be a hit to Turvey Park who were scheduled to play twice on Saturday.
They had games against Saints and South Wagga Warrior but have a chance to play for points against South Wagga Warriors on Saturday.
The final round ahead of the Christmas break on December 16 will be a double header.
Murrumbidgee Turf Club also lost their second meeting for the week.
There was still a phantom Christmas Party meeting, but the six-race card was called off on Saturday morning.
It comes after only four races were run on Monday before a storm hit.
