The Sacred Heart Primary School student was one of just 20 riders from across Australia selected to take part in a once of a lifetime experience at the Aus-X Open.
Tommy rode in front of 15,000 fans as part of the inaugural KTM Junior Supercross Challenge (KJSC).
The Challenge provided an amazing experience to 20 seven and eight-year-olds with at least one year’s competition experience under their belt.
Tommy was treated to the complete factory ride and was provided with his own bike, mechanic and gear for the night before racing in front of a packed stadium in between the biggest names in motocross.
“It was a once in a lifetime thing,” Tommy’s father, Dave Joyce said.
“Coming back in the car he said to me, ‘I thought it was a dream Dad, but it wasn’t was it?”
Tommy was chosen out of 180 applicants across the country to take part in the event.
He had to apply and school reports were just as much a factor as experience on the bike.
Meantime, Wagga Motorcycle Sports Club will hold a junior’s only practice day at Yarragundry Park on Saturday, December 2.
