Having scored tickets from the FFA, the Wanderers pulled some strings with Sydney FC community football manager Paul Reid - who visited the club in Wagga last year - to gain some additional access on the night.
The group of Wanderers soon found themselves wandering across the Allianz Stadium pitch before kickoff.
They also came face-to-face with Sydney FC’s victorious players after the game, as well as greats of the game and Fox Sports commentators Robbie Slater and Mark Bosnich.
Football Wagga development officer Liam Dedini said the young players were beside themselves.
“The kids were absolutely loving it,” Dedini said.
“For some of them it was the first game they’d ever been to.”
