To make sure the city was starting to get into the festive spirit, the Australian Army band Kapooka on Tuesday gave a small sample of the wonderful music that will be performed at the Wagga Christmas Spectacular 2017.
Local performers, dance groups and choirs will once again gather at the Wagga Music Bowl from 6.30pm on Sunday, December 17, for the event.
Officer commanding and music director of the Australian Army Band Kapooka, Major Lindsay Mee, told the official launch ceremony that the Christmas Spectacular was now in its 37th year.
“It is widely regarded as one of the community’s fondest traditions,” Major Mee said.
“Over the years this event has significantly evolved and morphed from carols by candlelight into a feature community event.”
All proceeds from the event will go to Kurrajong, with funds earmarked for the Hildasid Community Farm.
