Forecast showers plagued havoc on planned events.
After rain hampered Snake Gully Cup day at Gundagai on Friday, causing significant downgrades of the track throughout the day, the second part of the carnival was abandoned due to the state of the track.
The next meeting at Hay on Saturday.
Temora’s return to harness racing this season was also washed off.
The club now won’t race until January while the next meeting will be Young’s Cherry Festival Cup program on Friday.
While there was some junior action earlier in the morning, both the Wagga cricket and Wagga softball senior rounds were disrupted.
All matches of the women’s senior league were cancelled not only due to the persistent rain but, more importantly, because of the deteriorating condition of the diamonds at French Fields.
All matches were declared 0-all draws.
It leaves Turvey Park a point clear of South Wagga Warriors in the Ag grade ladder.
Saints are still yet to taste defeat.
Draws were also declared in all four grades of the Wagga cricket association.
It wasn’t all bad news with the sun out on Sunday for the completion of the Wagga City’s club championships as well as Wagga Little Athletics Club’s annual carnival.
