For the first time in five years, Kooringal Colts will use the ground as their regular base.
There were one-off games in 2013 and 2014, but plenty of work has gone into getting the turf wicket up to standard once more.
The pitch will be used in first grade for the first time on Saturday when the two undefeated teams in the competition, Kooringal Colts and South Wagga, clash.
The Harris Park pitch has been used for second grade already and the Colts are confident it will hit the mark in the top of the table clash against South Wagga on Saturday.
“It has been playing really well with good runs and no complaints,” president Rob Etchells said.
“The under 16s have been playing here as well so they pitches the seconds have played on have had two games on them and held up really well.”
With Wagga cricket planning to have each of the six clubs have a regular home ground from next season, the Colts decided to get on board early and ensure the ground was ready.
After retiring from umpiring Greg Hanigan and his son Macgregor have taken over as curators.
It has been 40 years since Greg helped his late father John as curator but he’s been enjoying the different role and helping the club out.
“I use to curate with my dad but haven’t done it since,” Greg said.
“As the club wanted someone to do this we said we would and there is more hours in this than umpiring.
“(But) I’m really pleased with the way it is looking now.”
The Colts are expected to be at full strength for the clash and for the first time this season South Wagga will be as well.
Jeremy Rowe, Brayden Ambler and Darcy Irvine are in with Nate Mooney, Chase MacIntosh and Dave White back to seconds.
A win would guarantee a place in the one-day final, giving both team plenty of incentive to perform.
Blues captain Joel Robinson is hoping to extend their good run of form but is pleased by how the team is progressing.
“I’m happy with the effort from everyone in the club and the balance we have in the team at the moment seems to be working quite well,” Robinson said.
