TRAC imposed their will early on to snatch a 2-0 half-time lead in wild and windy conditions, as Mater Dei struggled to get a shot away.
MDCC fought back in the second-half, but ultimately left their run too late.
Will De Jong was named man of the match.
In the girls final, Mater Dei toppled The Riverina Anglican College 7-2.
The win ended Wagga High School’s long-standing stranglehold on the annual competition.
Sophie McLeod was named player of the game.
Mater Dei sports coordinator Nathan Irvine said it was massive day for his school’s girls.
“They haven’t won it for a long time, so they’re very happy,” he said.
Irvine said the carnival had been a success overall, despite those standing outside the pool being almost as damp as those in it.
“It poured down for most of the day but that didn’t seem to worry the kids at all.
“It was more the coaches who noticed it.
“Thankfully there wasn't any lightning so we were able to continue playing throughout the afternoon.”
