Chris Mumme fought valiantly in front of goal for Octopuses, finishing with a hat-trick of his own.
But Dolphins proved to be especially strong in the second and third quarters, outscoring Octopuses 5-3.
Meanwhile, Raiders downed Octopuses Pink 3-2.
Octopuses drew first blood through veteran David Barrett to lead 1-0 at quarter time, before Raiders’ Dan McAuliffe, Doug De Jong and Will De Jong found the net in the second and third quarters to wrestle away control.
Ethan Ross scored in the final term for Octopuses, but it was too little too late.
