The preschool was one of 16 across the state to receive a grant under the NSW Start Strong funding package.
“The parish is also kicking in $200,000, so that will take the amount to $650,000, which will see preschool student numbers jump from 30 children to 60 by February, 2019,” Anglican Parish Committee member James Hamilton said.
Parish Rector, the Venerable David Ruthven, said the funding grant is perfect timing for St. Luke’s 60th birthday.
“I’m just so excited. The word I use is ecstatic because our goal is to serve the community, and now we will offer a new component for additional needs children,” Reverend Ruthven said.
A birthday afternoon celebration was provided for guests, including former student, Wagga City Councillor Tim Koschel.
“It was 34 years ago but I’ll always remember playing in the sandpit”, he said.
