The fire broke out just after 8am and quickly took hold on the wooden building.
Two fire and rescue trucks from Narrandera and one Rural Fire Service vehicle from Matong with nine personnel in total worked for 30 minutes to put out the fire, which appears to have started in the roof.
A structural assessment will be made, but Fire and Rescue Captain Neal Tait said crews managed to contain the fire before it spread into the adjoining roof.
A safety perimeter was set up and the main road closed until just before 11am.
While investigations into the fire are underway, crews at the scene believe it may have started from a electrical fault.
