Promising Wagga netballer Tamsyn Goolagong has won selection for a national Indigenous carnival early next year.

Goolagong has been selected in the NSW Under 14 Echidnas team to play at the Australian Indigenous Schoolgirls Netball Championships on the Gold Coast in January.

The Mt Austin High School student was selected after a carnival in Newcastle earlier this year.

Goolagong, 12, said she likes playing in defence but can also play shooter and is excited about the trip to the Gold Coast.
