Financial security, member satisfaction and promoting sport in the community are the long term objectives of the Wagga RSL Club.
In order to achieve this the club is looking to diversify further, continue with constant renovations and remain good neighbours to the homes surrounding the club.
The next element the Wagga RSL Club hopes to add is a childcare centre on Goonigul Avenue.
Plans to add a childcare centre have been on the cards for the past year with a decision made recently at a planning meeting.
The planning meetings take place every two years and give the club a chance to look at options for future expansion and business opportunities.
Expressions of interest will soon be sent out and if the childcare centre is supported it will go ahead.
“We want to diversify and add to the motel while giving back to the community,” RSL general manager Andrew Bell said.

The club is also looking further into the future and thinking about the environment and how they can make an impact.
“We would like to establish a solar farm in the Riverina,” Mr Bell said.

The club recently had solar panels fitted which are proving to make a big difference to the power bill.
In a bid to further lower energy consumption Solar Gard solar control film was fitted to all the motel units and the northern and eastern side of the RSL Club by the Solar Tinting Centre.
With proven heat rejection properties, Solar Gard films help reduce the consumption of energy by keeping interior temperatures more controllable allowing air conditioning systems to operate more efficiently.
The club is impressed with the outcome from Rowan Laurent and his team and are already experiencing great savings in energy costs.
“It’s making a big difference, we’re saving a lot of money and energy,” Mr Bell said.
The solar tinting was installed during the latest round of renovations at the club which will continue to be an ongoing occurrence.
“It’s like painting the Sydney Harbour Bridge, once you finish you just start again,” Mr Bell said.
While improving and expanding the club for members to enjoy the community will remain a focus with the support of community organisations to continue into the future.
