Bringing the community together has always been a goal of the Wagga RSL Club and they are proving that with their 70th birthday celebrations.
The club is hosting a party for members on Friday November 17 from 4pm.
Members and their families are invited to the club’s greens for the party which will feature free entertainment and fun for kids and adults alike.
The RSL are giving one lucky member the chance to win $7,000 at the party and $700 each night from Monday to Thursday in the lead-up.
For more information or to show the club you’re attending go to their Facebook page and find the event “Party on the Greens – Happy 70th Wagga RSL.”
The club currently boasts more than 23,000 members with that number growing by approximately 350 a month. When the Wagga RSL Club was first started by the Sub-Branch it was known as the RSS&A Club and was located on Baylis Street.

On Saturday May 24 1958 the name was changed and the current site at Dobbs Street was officially opened.
Since then the club has seen many changes but the main goals have always remained the same; to provide members with a place to meet, support local organisations and adapt as times change.
The following pages explore the changes at the Wagga RSL Club during the past 20 years.
Just some of the major events in that time include the amalgamation with the Commercial Club, investing $1 million in the City Golf Club, supporting local charities and community groups and constant upgrades to the club.
There are plans to continue upgrading and improving with a child care centre one of the possible additions.
Join today to be part of this expansive and community-focused club. Membership is just $5 and offers discounts at more than 90 stores around Wagga through the exclusive Rewards Club program.
