AS WELL as a provider of premium food and meals, Cache Group also has an accommodation arm.
The fire earlier this year meant a complete makeover of Cache Accommodation was required.
Cache Accommodation, the 10-unit motel upstairs at 214 Baylis Street, is a fully modernised facility, much changed from the adapted “pub” rooms previously in place.
A brand new pressed-metal ceiling was installed and with modern colouring and fixtures throughout, it has the feel of a boutique motel in a larger city.
There is a small common lounge on the landing and sensor lights throughout hallways.
The rooms vary in size, but all have ensuites, flat-screen TVs and split-system climate control, with one room also having a kitchenette.
All of the rooms have keyless entry, meaning customers only require one code to enter the building and their room. If booking online, the code is sent with confirmation so there is no need to “check-in”.
Cache Group also operates Cache Apartments, six serviced apartments located over the road at 199 Baylis Street.
With five apartments upstairs, there is an additional apartment downstairs with disabled access.
Every room has its own kitchenette, reverse-cycle air-conditioning, Foxtel, a large bathroom, lounge and bedrooms. Two of the rooms have an adjoining door to expand the space further.
The building also contains a laundry facility.
The apartments are aimed at those who are looking to stay in the city for a few nights and want extra space and more of the comforts of home.
Like Cache Accommodation, the apartments feature keypad access for entry through the security gate and each room.
There is access via Tompson Street to a secure carpark at the rear of the apartments.
