Community director Janice Summerhayes hailed the “incredible” support offered by local community members and visitors to Wagga alike but said steps were being taken to ensure Fusion18 was even better.
“We are really pleased with all aspects of the Fusion17 festival line-up,” Ms Summerhayes said.
“Council has (also) been successful in receiving funding of $18,400 toward the development of a Fusion festival sustainability strategy.
“(However) we always undertake a post evaluation of the Fusion event to see what worked well and what aspects of festival can be strengthened going forward,”
Ms Summerhayes said council would continue to collaborate with Multicultural Council of Wagga Wagga and Riverina Community College and review a number of spot evaluations taken throughout Fusion17.
“Fusion volunteers undertook evaluations with audience members on the night, interviewing a wide range of people to seek their input on their experience at the festival,” she said.
“An online survey is currently open so that people can provide feedback into the evaluation process.”
Despite some residents voicing concerns over heavy foot traffic along Wollundry Bridge , Ms Summerhayes said there were no current plans to expand Fusion to different parts of the city or shifting stalls to along the Esplanade for Fusion 18.
