Canberra club Royals took out the major honour after downing fellow Canberra rivals Wests to win the open women’s title.
The finals for the under 14 and 16 girls plus the under 16 and 18 boys were decided in the fourth round of the competition.
Brumbies development officer Zac Elliott was pleased by how the day went.
“It was fantastic,” Elliott said.
“It is a great facility.
“We had an injury during the day and we could just move across to a field.
“There was plenty of fields, a great canteen and some great weather.
“It was really good.”
Southern Inland manager Mick McTaggart echoed his sentiments about Parramore Park, believing they were lucky to secure the venue.
He was also impressed by how far the teams traveled to take part in Wagga’s event.
McTaggart dealt mostly with the under 14 girls event and oversaw teams from Jindabyne, Narooma and the Far South Coast
“A number of teams traveled a long distance,” McTaggart said.
“They seemed very happy with the day itself.
“It went off well.”
However McTaggart would like to see more Southern Inland teams involved in the series with earlier legs in Broulee, Goulburn and Tumut.
Wagga will continue to play host to part of the series for the coming years after securing a deal with council.
