The sixth annual George Maher and Hamish Howard Remembrance Golf Day proved a big success yet again, raising funds for Pillars of Strength.
Retired AFL stars Leigh Montagna and Adam Schneider, Manly star Blake Green and retired NRL stars Matt King and Joe Stimson were just some of the sportsmen in attendance.
Schneider, who this week signed as Greater Western Sydney’s new NEAFL coach, said it was great to return home to support a good cause.
“It's definitely good to get back to the community and come back for a good cause,” Schneider said.
“It's a very good day so far and hopefully we can raise some money for a good cause.”
About 160 supporters played a round at Wagga Country Club on Friday for the George Maher and Hamish Howard Cup.
The day is to acknowledge George and Hamish and all babies and infants that have passed away and their bereaved dads.
Pillars Of Strength is an Australian first charity providing ‘time out’ and in hospital support for bereaved dads and for dads while their child is in hospital.
