IF YOU haven’t heard the voice of Stig Wemyss, you haven’t been listening to the audio versions of best-selling books like Just Stupid!, The Big Fat Cow Goes Kapow, or The 26-Storey Treehouse. Stig’s narration is so closely associated with these stories that when kids hear his voice in public they often ask if he is the books’ author, Andy Griffiths. “Yes,” Stig always replies.

Stig is coming to Wagga for one show only at the Civic Theatre, and primary schools are invited to attend this free event, thanks to support from Bolinda Audio, the Civic Theatre, and the Riverina Regional Library.
Teachers can book their Year 3 to 6 classes in to participate in this hour-long celebration of storytelling and silliness, taking place on Monday, November 13 at 1pm. There will be mayhem, games and giveaways, and students are sure to leave feeling thoroughly entertained and inspired.
So, teachers, don’t delay! Contact the Wagga Civic Theatre on 6926 9688 to reserve seats for your class.

TECH Savvy Seniors, a partnership between the NSW Government and Telstra that provides free technology training to older people across NSW, has been one of this year’s great success stories at the library.
The last sessions for 2017 have resumed, and although they are all booked out, we are taking expressions of interest for 2018.
We want to help local seniors take charge of their devices, in order to master everything from internet use to online banking.
Tech Savvy Seniors is not just about teaching you how to use a gadget: it’s about using technology to enhance social engagement and interaction, as well as connection with friends, families and communities.

LASTLY, as the Fusion 17, Wagga’s multicultural street festival, takes place all around the Civic Centre Precinct today, we would like to remind everyone about another big success story from this year, our Language Café program.
The Language Café assists residents who have English as their second or sometimes third language.
Our classes have an informal friendly atmosphere so participants can strengthen their conversational English language skills with the assistance of trained tutors, while also building new social networks and improving their listening skills. Classes are free, every Monday, Thursday and Saturday.
To register your interest in Tech Savvy Seniors or the Language Café classes, call the library on 6926 9700, email us at wcl@wagga.nsw.gov.au, or visit in person and speak to one of our friendly staff.
