Wagga City and St Michaels face off at Robertson Oval with both looking to cement a place in the finals.
Despite both coming away with victories, with only the two rounds before the semi-finals, St Michaels captain-coach Ryan Forsyth believes his needs to adopt a must-win approach.
“We are in a bit of an interesting situation as we’ve had a win but we are the lowest ranked side of the team who has had a win,” Forsyth said.
“It is a big game for us I feel.”
With Saints having the worst quotient heading into the clash with the premiers Forsyth is expecting a tough challenge.
“It is always a good contest when we play Wagga City,” he said.
“It is just the way the draw was done with two tough games, but I think that holds us in really good stead from future games.”
Tom Byrnes, Jared Koetz and Aidan Ridley all come into the team following the win over South Wagga.
Forsyth was yet to finalise who was coming out of the side but he is pleased to see other get an opportunity to impress in the top grade.
“It is good to help blokes realise their potential to play senior cricket,” he said.
“It is not so much balancing the side, but more having a couple of players back and giving others an opportunity.”
Bowling is one thing Forsyth wants to focus on, especially with the Cats having so many dangerous players at the top of their innings.
“With their batting they will punish you if you don’t bowl good lines so I think one thing we need to do is to make the most of their loose deliveries,” he said.
