Mr Bolton was unanimously voted into the role for three months at the end of August to replace acting GM Robert Knight.
Mayor Greg Conkey said an official announcement on the new GM position will be made when the recruitment process is finalised.
“Local Government NSW Management Solutions has coordinated an extensive merit-based recruitment process, including nation-wide advertising that resulted in 25 applications for the position by the August 21 closing date,” he said.
“Following short-listing, a panel consisting of myself, deputy mayor Dallas Tout, Cr. Vanessa Keenan, Cr. Kerry Pascoe and Albury City General Manager Frank Zaknich conducted first-round interviews.
“Following further short-listing, four candidates were interviewed by all Councillors present on Tuesday, September 26. At the following Extraordinary Council Meeting, councillors resolved for myself and the Deputy Mayor to progress the recruitment process with the successful applicant.”
