SOME of the biggest names in Australian sport will arrive in Wagga on Thursday as part of the Daniher’s Drive.
About 500 people will pack Kildare Catholic College for the Daniher’s Drive Sportsperson’s Night, featuring Wayne Carey, Laurie Daley, Paul Kelly, Shane Watson and Meg Lanning as guest speakers.
A number of retired Essendon and Melbourne footballers will be alongside the Daniher brothers in the 360-strong contingent that arrive through the Drive from Victoria.
The Daniher’s Drive will arrive in Wagga late Thursday afternoon, enjoy the Sportsperson’s Night, then head back to Victoria via Osborne and Corowa on Friday.
The Daniher’s Drive is a Fight MND event, raising much-needed funds in a bid to find a cure for Motor Neurone Disease (MND).
Dorothy Vearing, Neale’s sister, thanked the community for getting behind the event.
“The community is always wonderful and they have been so supportive, which is great,” she said.
