Byrne took out the best and fairest ahead of midfielder Harry Collins and full-forward Jordan Foster.
It was a fitting reward for Byrne, who enjoyed a fine first season at the Goannas.
A grade netball coach Marie Campbell also took home the best and fairest.
Lower grade football best and fairests went to Cameron Bailey (reserve grade) and Steve Hoffman (under 17), while in netball, Jaimee Smith (A reserve), Shannon Seaman (B grade), Victoria Kurrle (C grade) and Claudia Lawrence (under 17) were the netball winners.
Phil Davis was awarded life membership, while Andrew Griffin was named Goanna of the Year.
