Ashmont’s Brendan Luke Morgan has pleaded guilty to one count of take and drive a conveyance and one of driving while disqualified.
The 28-year-old is yet to enter a plea for a second drive while disqualified charge.
According to documents tendered to the court, Morgan allegedly took a relatives car for a drive without permission, just five days after the original charge.
Police prosecutor Kieran Drever told the court she had concerns Morgan would drive again if he was granted bail.
Solicitor Emily Winborne, who represented the accused, said the car was no longer available, removing the temptation.
The case will return to court on November 20.
