The school used the lunch as an opportunity to promote Fruit and Vegetable Month, STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) learning, nude food, rubbish reduction, healthy eating and trying new things all in a single busy day.
During a nude food recess, families were asked to pack the students’ fruit break and morning tea in reusable containers so there was no wrappers or rubbish.
At lunchtime, pupils had the chance to create their own lunch from the wide range of fresh salad, fruits, breads and meat selection placed in the hall on buffet style tables.
They were also encouraged to bring their own reusable water bottles for a healthy, low-rubbish drink.
