Wagga High trio presented with Minister’s Awards for Excellence

A Wagga High School teacher and two students have been recognised in this year’s Minister’s Awards for Excellence.

Teacher Leonie Atkinson has been presented with the minister’s award in teaching, while students Sarah Crakanthorp and Marc Tagalog Doble received awards for excellence in student achievement.

Secretary’s awards for excellent service were also presented to  Gundagai High School teacher Dale Chadwick and Tumut.High’s Graham Smith at a ceremony in Sydney.

In a citation, Ms Atkinson was described as “an outstanding and innovative teacher who truly works to ensure the students in her classes achieve to the highest possible standard”.

Sarah, a 2017 school captain, was described as an outstanding leader, who has demonstrated her natural leadership skills both within the school and in the wider school community.

Marc, according to his citation, is an “outstanding member of Wagga High School and the broader Wagga Wagga community”. He is also a school captain.
