Charles Sturt University’s PhD students took a break from their busy schedules to mentor the year-five kids in an effort to foster a new generation of science enthusiasts.
The three-week MyScience program culminated in an expo at Mater Dei Primary School on Tuesday, September 12.
The young scientists were able to showcase the results of their energy-related experiments.
Mater Dei teacher David Enever said students loved taking charge of their own investigations, producing some very creative projects, linked to renewable energy improvement.
PhD student Michelle Toutounji said she enjoyed working with the children and hoped to have “planted seeds of imagination and enthusiasm for scientific investigation”.
“The future of the next generation of scientists looks bright,” Ms Toutounji said.
