Where is the equality in a proposal that favours a small segment of Australians while limiting the right to freedom of speech of a larger proportion of the public?
Dan is a fine young man who takes his role as a Labor candidate very seriously.
Since Labor leaders Bill Shorten and Penny Wong have led the Party ‘down the bridal path’, Dan must follow.
Bill has used rather hateful talk - branding opponents as “homophobic” and “bigots”; Penny Wong has said: “nothing will change with legalising of same-sex ‘marriage’”.
This is false, with more than 300 other amendments needed.
Perhaps Dan would like to try justifying to council and the public the Labor Party and LGBTI Lobby intention to introduce the Marxist Safe Schools Program in all Australian schools - after the legalisation of same-sex ‘marriage’ and with Labor in Government.

Not a council issue
Councillor Hayes would be well advised to not put a motion to council to support the plebiscite on legalising the union between LGBTI, etc.
I am quite confident that Mayor Conkey would explain to councillors that the subject is well outside the guidelines of council to take a stance on an issue such as this.
Roads, rates and rubbish are still the priorities of councils.

Wagga, clean up your act
We are a couple of 70+ Kiwi’s who have come over to Australia to visit old friends we made while working here almost 50 years ago.
We are staying off Red Hill Road with our Aussie mates.
We walk most days at home so thought it would be nice to walk in your sunny clear days than our windy ones we have had recently.
Just having walked around part of your lovely city, a circuit of about 4.5km, we were enjoying our walk and wanted a wee rest to just sit and soak up the surroundings.
Alas, there was not a park bench to be found.
We walked past a retirement village and thought that it would be an asset from them if there were a seat or two on this circuit.
We did, however, enjoy our walk and were saddened to see that you too suffer from the “Nocturnal Idiot Bridge” that we have in NZ.
On our Sunday walks we take three plastic bags with us to pick up RTD cans, bottles and paper cups in order to keep our area tidier.
As we are no longer Olympic athletes now, we like to have a walk to keep us fit and healthy in order to do so.
A park bench with ANZAC on it would be great plus a rubbish bin or two as well.

Safety concern
Congratulations to Carol Simpson for her letter about the lagoon walkway.
The first building on Johnson Street is an empty government building and except for one house and the CWA, the rest are in a poor state of repair.
It would be great to have the walk around the whole lagoon and not have to go into Johnson Street.
I ride my bike in this area as it is much safer than being on the road.
