The game will be played at the Netball Centre, commencing at 6.30pm.
The undefeated Uranquinty side is coming off a 53-47 win over an improving Turvey Park, while the Stars were beaten quite comfortably by New Kids Aces at their last start.
Uranquinty have top players in every third and their versatility gives coach, Rosemary Clarke, numerous options for her line-up.
Lana Duffy at goal attack is arguably the best converter in the competition and she, along with Hannah Finemore and Abbey Lowe have managed to net a winning score in each of the last 12 rounds (in round one they drew with New Kids Aces).
At the opposite end Grace Cornell is a most consistent player and with assistance from the likes of Brooke Tilyard, Abbey Morton and either of the Finemore sisters, Ella and Hannah, form a most formidable defence.
In centre court, Tameka Scott is having a fine season and, along with sisters Georgia and Olivia Tilyard and Matilda Vearing they form an excellent link between defence and attack.
The Stars are a much different outfit than the one which defeated Uranquinty to win last season’s premiership.
Indeed, there are only three remnants from last year’s team, they being Brodie Jaques, Hayley Stevens and a late starter in Jemima Norbury.
Those three, along with the experienced Brianna Cain and Erin Brown will be looked to to show the way to the younger players, Frances Heffernan and Maddi McIntyre in defence, and Katie Caller up forward.
The Stars will be keen to show they’re a deserved finalist with a good performance against Uranquinty, but the latter should have too much pace and know-how for their undefeated record to be tarnished.
In the other match on Wednesday night, CSU Reddies meet New Kids Aces.
The Reddies have only two more rounds to ‘crack it’ for a win, but it’s highly unlikely they’ll break the ice against a top combination as in the Aces.
The Aces had a big win over the Stars at last start and there’s little likelihood of the Reddies stopping the well-oiled Aces whose shooters, Lisa Frow and Flynn Hogg are in excellent form.
As usual, you can expect good performances from the Cusack twins, Brianne and Alannah; Hannah Williams and Mel Vidler will always give their all and Maddi Moon is capable of some ‘magic’.
The Aces will play Turvey Park in Saturday’s last round, whilst the Reddies will be keen to tackle Shooting Stars in the other final round game and finish the season with a win.
