Friday is Cancer Council’s Daffodil Day – an opportunity for people across the Riverina to contribute fundraising which is aimed at creating a cancer-free future.
This year, the staff of the Turvey Park fire station have an added reason to back Daffodil Day, as Dougal the fundraising bear has this year become a firefighter.
Across NSW, more than 650 sites will be in full swing, staffed by more than 4500 volunteers who will be encouraging people to buy merchandise to show support for someone they know – including many sites across the Riverina.
“By supporting Daffodil Day, Riverina residents contribute to life-saving cancer research, prevention programs, support services and advocacy programs,” said Brianna Carracher from Cancer Council NSW.
