The Riverina man knows what it’s like to endure kidney disease but said he was fortunate compared to some children still suffering.
That’s why Mr Clout and his navigators Kerry Flinn and Brian Roy joined more than 60 teams at the 29th rally, last week.
The fleet trekked more than 4000-kilometres from Griffith to Wagga, across eight days.
“We all had a really great time, despite the rain in some areas,” Mr Clout said.
“Kerry really excelled himself again and Brian Roy as well.”
Team XPLANT arrived safely back in Wagga on Saturday afternoon, having raised $37,200 that contributed to combined total of more than $650,000.
Money raised will go to Kidney Kids.
Mr Clout praised the event planners, the teams, the organisation and the residents who donated across the journey.
“It’s amazing the people who go out of their way,” he said.
“Some are struggling and they still want to help.”
